Abstract
We wish to report some remarkably clean thermal and matrix-isolated photochemical transformations of difluoromaleic anhydride (l), which have led to a new synthesis of difluoropropadienone (2), the first synthesis and characterization of difluorocyclopropenone (3), and the first infrared characterization of difluoroacetylene (4).
