Abstract
Hydrogenolysis of a mixture of 18a and 18b as described above gave a mixture of 2a and 2b as a colorless glass (90%): TLC (10% MeOHCHC13) shows two bands at lower R, than starting material; IR and'H NMR as expected; attempts to crystallize the mixture were unsuccessful.
