Abstract

Summary Diethylstrontium has been prepared from strontium and diethylzinc. In confirmation of an earlier prediction that organostrontium compounds would have the general high reactivity of organoalkali Compounds, it has been shown that diethylstrontium adds to the olefinic linkage in 1, l-diphenylethylene.
