Abstract

Abstract α-Bromoacetals (1) are valuable precursors in synthesis of α, β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds (2), 1-alkoxybutadienes2 (3), ketene acetals3 (4), 2-methoxyallyl bromides4 (5) and other compounds. Because of our interest in the chemistry5, 6 of 3 and 4 we attempted to improve known procedures for the preparation of 1 with the aim to get a short and efficient synthesis of these compounds.
