Abstract

(-1-8 i astereomeric mixture of camphanates was separated by fractional recrystallization, or by column chromatography on silica gel, to give 2a,[a1589 $129.0'(ethanol), and 2b,[cy1589- 139.8'(ethanol), each in pure form. 6 Hydrolysis of (+)-2a gave optically pure (+)-1,[a1589+ 210.6'(methanol).
