Abstract

Sulfinate salts containing di-or trisulfide linkages have shown promise as antiradiation drugs. 3 An attractive alternative to long sequential syntheses of such structures would be convergent syntheses in which separately synthesized sulfinic acid derivatives and di-or trisulfides become connected by a carboxylate ester linkage involving COzH on one of the synthons and OH on the other.
