Abstract

At the concentrations of products encountered and in the temperature range 65 to 123' the correction for nitrogen tetroxide, NzO4, was negligible, greatly simplifying the computation of rate constants. By letting the reaction run for 20 or more half- lives, the initial concentration of nitrogen pentoxide could be computed as one-half the final concentra- tion of nitrogen dioxide.
