Abstract

From the methanolic extract of the dried roots of Saussurea lappa Clarke, Saussureae Radix, five amino acid–sesquiterpene conjugates, saussureamines A, B, C, D and E, were isolated together with a lignan glycoside,(−)-massoniresinol 4 ″-O-β-d-glucopyranoside.
