Abstract

Abstract Cotton plants are highly susceptible to infestation and bollworm moth is a major pest. Consequently, there is a great deal of current interest in the preparation of acetoxy (E) 9, 11-dodecadiene (1), the sex pheromone relating to the species1. We report in this communication a practical, convenient and highly stereospecific route to 1.
