Abstract

Abstract It has been found that the thermal decomposition of heptanal methylhydrazone affords 5-hexyl-1-methyl-4-pentyl-2-pyrazoline (I), in addition to heptanenitrile and methylamine. The formation of I suggests the synthesis of 1, 4, 5-trialkyl-2-pyrazolines from monoalkylhydrazines and aliphatic aldehydes.
