Abstract

A new homogeneous organonickel reagent prepared from nickelocene and LiAlH4 has been shown to be effective for the reduction of the carbon-sulfur bonds of thiols, thioethers, sulfoxides, and sulfones to the corresponding carbon-hydrogen bonds.
