Abstract

The syntheses of a variety of substituted diaminomaleonitriles, with variable nitrogen substituents, were undertaken. Linstead macrocyclization of the resulting diaminomaleonitriles gave access to a wide range of functionalized porphyrazine- octaamines and hexamines and norphthalocyaninediamines.
