Abstract
Abstract A series of p-substituted phenyldimesitylboranes has been synthesized by reaction of dimesitylboron fluoride with appropriately substituted phenyllithium derivatives. The quantum yields of fluorescence in cyclohexane vary with the nature of the p-substituent as follows: Br≈ Cl< CN< CH 3≈ H< N (CH 3) 2< N (C 6 H 5) 2.
