Abstract
Abstract Examples are given of the Diels-Alder type addition of propiolic acid to aryl substituted propiolic acids. Using this method aromatic systems have been extended by one ring. For example propiolic acid with phenylpropiolic acid gives naphthalene-2, 3- dicarboxylic anhydride.
