Abstract
It has been reported by Ingersoll and Robbins6 that p-diethylaminoethyl and y- diethylaminopropyl nicotinate are inactive as local anesthetics. They stated that these esters were prepared by them by interaction of the required basic alcohol with nicotinyl chloride; the “nicotinyl chloride” which was employed melted at 264-265'and was preserved over calcium chloride and paraffin.
