Abstract

The metabolism of (+)-propoxyphene (13) has been the subject of a number of papers from these laboratories. It was known that N-demethylation was a major metabolic route in man'and in several animal species.'" With newer techniques of gas chromatographic-mass spectrometric analysis a number of minor metabolites have recently been identified. 4-6
