Abstract: The decomposition of N-acetyl-N-nitroso-0-t-butylhydroxylamine has been studied under conditions of varying viscosity. The products include t-butyl peracetate and methyl t- butyl ether. The yields of these products increase with increasing viscosity. equilibration of the carbonyl oxygen label.
