Abstract: A number of 2-substituted 2-propylp-nitroperbenzoates have been prepared and solvolyzed in methanol solvent. The products from the p-nitroperbenzoates which were substituted with alkyl groups larger than methyl were those derived from exclusive migration of the alkyl group; these were p-nitrobenzoic acid, acetone and its dimethyl ketal, and the alcohol, olefin, and methyl ether derived from the migrating group.
