Abstract
Abstract Photolysis of eight aryldisilanes in the presence of 1, 3-conjugated dienes (butadiene, isoprene and 2, 3-dimethylbutadiene) has been studied. All of the aryldisilanes bearing a hydrogen on an ortho carbon atom in the aryl ring reacted upon UV irradiation with the conjugated dienes to give o-silyl-substituted (3-butenylsilyl) arene derivatives in high yields.
