Using, as fluorinating reagent, the available compound Et 3 N, 3HF, we prove that it is possible, in a one-pot reaction to synthetise specifically mono or difluoro benzylic, ketones, esters or nitriles. The reaction proceeds through an α-cetyl (or α-cyano) carbenium.
