Abstract

The preparation of esters of phenolic secondary amines of the type of 4- hydroxyphenethylmethylamine, wherein the amino group is not also acylated, presents difficulties. No compounds of this type have been found in the literature. The sensitiveness of phenolic esters precludes their use as starting. materials for building up the amine, and the reactivity of the amino group of the hydroxyamines prevents preferential acylation of the ...
