Abstract

Abstract A one-pot synthesis of dihydroindenes from substituted benzenes and haloalkenes was developed. The reaction proceeded via a copper (II) triflate [Cu (OTf) 2]-catalyzed tandem Friedel–Crafts alkylation/cyclization process with high efficiency under relatively mild conditions.
