Abstract

Additive alkyl group contributions to the phosphorus-31 chemical shifts of tertiary phosphines have been assigned for 12 alkyl groups. These group contributions are shown to be related to the number of carbon substituents on the LI and B positions of the alkyl groups. Previously unreported phosphorus-31 chemical shift data are also presented for some tertiary phosphines.
