Abstract

The a additions of thiosulfenyl chlorides to carbon monosulfide (CS) constitute a general route to compounds containing the so far inaccessible functional group C1C (S) SS. Four examples are presented, CH3C (0)-, CIC (O)-, C13C-, and C1SC2-SSC (S) C1, all of which were prepared in good yields.
