Abstract
Compounds having a semipolar functional group, generally formulated X→ Y, ie sulfoxide, sulfilimine, sulfonium ylide, pyridine N-oxide, and N-iminopyridinium betaine, were found to react readily with O, O-dialkyl dithiophosphoric acid to afford the corresponding reduction products, sulfide and pyridine.
