Abstract: The preparation, characterization, and properties of new ruthenium silyl and diphenylsilylene derivatives of CP*(PM~,)~ RU (Cp*= $-CSMe5) are described. The silyl complexes Cp*(PMe,), RuSiR,(SIR,= SiEt,(l), SiPh,(2), SiPh2Me (3), SiPh2C1 (4)) are obtained directly by reaction of Cp*(PMe3) 2RuCH2SiMe3 with the appropriate silane HSiR, at 80-100" C. Other conditions lead to loss of 1 equiv of PMe, to afford the ruthenium (1V) ...
