Abstract

Conclusion In the case where both reactants are absorbed by the hydrophobic core of the micelle the reacting bonds are forced into a region so that the electronic structure of the transition state differs from that in aqueous solution; the nature of the region, as reflected by the effective charges on the attacking oxygen at the various stages of the reaction path, is not water-like.
