Abstract
Cyclosporin A'(l), the active ingredient of Sandimmune, is a powerful immunosuppressant2 preventing organ allograft rejections in animals3 and human^.^ It is available from natural sources6 or through total synthesis. 6 The mechanism of action'is based on the inhibition of the production of lymphokines such as interleukine-2 (IL-2).
