Abstract
Potassium permanganate supported onto alumina in hexanewater is a good oxidizing agent to convert α-hydroxysilanes into acylsilanes. This mild oxidation afforded aroylsilanes having electron-donating groups attached to the aromatic ring, in 70–86 % yield. ... Potassium permanganate
