Abstract

Abstract: A series of (benzamidostyryl) benzimidazole derivatives were synthesized by hydrolyzing 2-phenyl-4-(substituted) benzylidene-5-oxazolones, the azlactone precursors in an acidic medium and treating the product with substituted o-phenylenediamine (OPDA) in situ.
