Abstract

Zr (OBut) 4 Can serve as an effective promoter for the Meerwein–Ponndorf–Verley alkynylation of aldehydes and also facilitate MPV type cyanide transfer to aldehyde carbonyls with commercially available acetone cyanohydrin under mild conditions.
