Abstract

We previously studied the biological properties of natural and synthetic derivatives of benzopyran-2-one [1-6] and showed that some of them possess marked spasmolytic, hypotensive, and coronarolytic activity. Later it was discovered during these investigations that several haloalkyl and amino derivatives of benzopyran-2-one also displayed psychotropic properties [7, 8].
