Abstract
Neither during the synthesis from sorbitol and benzaldehyde] nor during hydrolysis experiments, did we encounter another isomer of di-benzylidene-D-sorbitol, such as the one described by Meunier14 mp 162'. This substance was probably a mixture of di-and tri- benzylidene-D-sorbitols.
