Abstract

Abstract The fluoroquinolones, 7-benzoxazol-2-yl-1-ethyl-6-fluoro-1, 4-dihydro-4- oxoquinoline-3-carboxylic acid and 7-benzothiazol-2-yl-1-ethyl-6-fluoro-1, 4-dihydro-4- oxoquinoline-3-carboxylic acid, were synthesized. The compounds were obtained by use of the Gould-Jacobs route to the quinoline ring system.
