Abstract

We undertook a study of the halogenation of methaneboronic acid derivatives in the hope of finding a method of preparing halomethaneboronic esters, XCHZB (OR) z. Because of their simple structure and high boron content, these are particularly attractive intermediates for making new compounds to be tested for utility in Bl0 neutron capture brain-tumor therapy.
