Abstract

Photoirradiation of dibenzoyldiazomethane (DBDM) produced highly electrophilic benzoylketene via Wolff rearrangement. DBDM derivative possessing an aminoalkyl side chain induced a DNA cleavage selectively at guanine (G) residues upon photoirradiation and subsequent piperidine treatment.
