Abstract

In a recent paper1 of this series we dealt with some solvolytic reactio, ns of the epimeric 3- mesyloxy derivatives of 5et, 7et-and 5~, 7~-cyc1ocholestane and observed an interesting participation of the cyclopropane grouping in the course of these reactions. For further study of interactions of the developing ion in ring A with the cyclopropane grouping in 5, 7- cyclosteroids derivatives substituted in positions 2, 3, and 4 were desirable.
