Abstract: Reactions of a series of XP (OEt) 2 (where X= C1, alkyl, Ph, PhO, AcO, and n- Bu2N) with alkoxy and thiyl radicals (RA., A= 0 or S) have been studied to attempt to understand more fully the factors which determine the relative amounts of oxidation [APX (OEt) 2] and displacement [RAP (OEt) 2] products which result in such systems. With A= 0, both oxidation and displacement take place depending on the natures of R and X. ...
