Abstract
Our synthetic strategy is shown in Figure [2] . The DE ring system (S)-6 can be synthesized from 7 by enantioselective hydroxylation of the lactone, followed by removal of the protecting group (R 1 ). The lactone 7 can be constructed from 8 by the selective reduction of the alkoxycarbonyl group.
