Abstract
A family of penta-and hexadentate metal ligating α-amino acids, suitably protected for Fmoc solid-phase chemistry, has been prepared. These residues incorporate the mono-amides of ethanolaminetriacetic acid, ethylenediaminetriacetic acid, and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid as side chains.
