Abstract

Phosgene (60 mmol) was dissolved in a mixture of toluene (20 mL) and methylene chloride (20 mL) at-20" C. A solution of 2-hydroxypyridine (1.14 g, 12 mmol) and triethylamine (1.28 g, 12.6 mmol) in methylene chloride (40 mL) was added dropwise over 30 min. The reaulting solution was stirred for 20 min at-20-0" C. The excess phosgene and solvents were removed under reduced pressure, and the residue was dissolved in methylene chloride (30 mL). A ...
