Abstract

Mild and selective N-alkylation of carbamates was carried out in the presence of cesium carbonate, tetrabutylammonium iodide (TBAI), and a halide. This protocol was highly selective and efficient, offering aliphatic and aromatic N-alkyl carbamates exclusively in high yields.
