Abstract
The phenyldimethylsilyl group can be converted in two steps, protodesilylation and peracid-mediated rearrangement, into a hydroxy group with retention of configuration: f3-phenyldimethylsilyl carbonyl compounds are thus revealed to be masked aldol products. ...
