Abstract
Sept., 1944 SYNTHESES IN THEF HYDROPHENANTHRENE SERIES 1551 high. The dehydration of the hydroxy ester, 111, was accomplished in high yield by treating with thionyl chloride and pyridine. After hydrolysis a mixture of a solid and liquid unsaturated acid was obtained.
