Abstract
Since its first appearance,'PCC (pyridinium chlorochromate) has received much attention by synthetic chemists, because of its exceptional versatility as oxidizing agent in many usual and unusual situations. 2 So far no attempts have been made to oxidize methylene groups with PCC.
