Abstract
Dopamine 0-hydroxylase (DBH; EC 1.14. 17.1), a copper-containing mixed-function oxidase, catalyzes the penultimate step in the catecholamine biosynthetic pathway, the benzylic oxidation of dopamine (DA) to norepinephrine (NE). 2 This enzymatic transformation affords a particularly attractive point for biochemical modulation of catecholamine levels in vivo.
