Abstract

Using the catalytic asymmetric Sharpless carbamate aminohydroxylation, conformationally restricted l-arginine and l-homoarginine derivatives (5-8) were prepared in good enantiomeric excess to investigate the binding requirements of l-arginine-based compounds with nitric oxide synthase.
