Abstract

Propargyl functionalised β-silylalkenals were easily prepared starting from suitable propargyl compounds by a silylformylation process. In particular the use of propargyl tosyl amides allowed the synthesis of α, β-unsaturated aldehydes through a two-step sequence of silylformylation–desilylation reactions.
