Abstract

Various 2-alkyl-1, 3, 2-dithiaborolanes, RB (SzC2H4)(l), were converted to the corresponding carboxylic acids, RC0, H (2), by using LiCC13 in THF, followed by oxidation with alkaline hydrogen peroxide. For R= hexyl, a reaction intermediate is converted by solvent into another compound, CsH1, C (S2CzH4) B [O (CH2) 4Cl] 2 (9a), characterized spectroscopically.
