Abstract: The cocondensation of boron monofluoride and acetylene at-190'yields a polymer and several volatile compounds. The most abundant of these volatiles has been shown by its proton and fluorine nmr spectrum to be (F1BCH= CH) 2BF. This compound loses boron trifluoride in the vapor phase above room temperature to give quantitative yields of the compound C4H4B2F2, 1, 4-difluoro-l, 4-diboracyclohexadiene, which is isoelectronic and ...
